Reintroducing myself again

I've been avoiding this for a while, but when I weighed in at the doctor's office this morning I realized it's time. I got Long Covid a year and a half ago, with chronic fatigue and pain. Exercise is out of the question, and I've been soothing myself with lots of comfort foods. I put on 30 pounds in the last year and a half. No thanks!

Today I'm not committing myself to a specific pound goal, but I went to the grocery store and got lots of fresh produce. I emailed my doc and asked her to suggest a target weight. In the meantime, I'm going to be gentle and loving with myself as I work toward this. I'll have to count calories, but no beating myself up if I fall off the wagon. Is there a subgroup here for people with chronic illness? I'd love to join if I can.
