Hello

I am a 65 year old female who is trying to prepare for bariatric surgery. I need a good way to track everything with all the changes I am making.

Get a notebook .. one that is not too small or too big, perhaps one that will fit well inside your purse so you can have it with you. Use a pen to write down all the 'everything' items you are tracking. Don't get too detailed in this step ... just record the necessary items. Then you can use those notes from the day to journalize at the end of the day.

Alternately, if you have a smart phone, and have no problems using the keys to type into it, you can create a note on your phone instead of in a pad of paper. Some phones even allow you to use voice to instead of typing. ... And, when it comes to a plate of food, you can simply snap a photo of it and then use that as a memory jogger when you journalize later.

PS .. of course, once you get adept at using MFP you will learn how to quickly record your food into your food diary online ... but I can recall how long it seemed to take me to do the logging online when I was new to it .. paper was much faster for me back then. I still take photos of my plates of food for when I am not able to take the few minutes to access the app to log the food just then. ... experience tells me that on my own, if don't record it right then somehow, my memory becomes fuzzy later on about just what and how much was in a meal.

    Good luck.
