Honestly, OP, I would pick the Philippines as my best guess but you said "homogenous," so I'm baffled.

You could be Hispanic, Indian, mixed race, Polynesian, Native American... you can be all kinds of ethnicities. Shame on whoever assumes someone is something.

ME, they ALWAYS assume I'm Boricua (cuban or mixed with black).... 'cause of my hair, but am totes Mexican

That was going to be my guess too. I have a friend whose mother is from the Philippines and she has the same sort of look

I read a book once that said women were from Venus. Sounded legit, so I'm going with that.

Hum . . . she looks neither Icelandic nor Japanese (or even Ainu). I'm sticking with the Philippines.

btw guys, a delivery, I'm Indonesian. I think Philippines is a fairly homogenous country at least compared to the US. I wish I was Kim Kardashian though, really prettty face-wise but couldn't comment on her personality.
India? I don't know for sure - I think you look very pretty though!!
I'm Indonesian but even my niece's babysitter looks Indian and I don't think someone would mistake her for a foreigner, I think it could be the way I dressed like another poster suggested. Also :flowerforyou:
So you're saying that you live in a "fairly homogeneous country" - meaning that you are the same ethnicity as most of the people around you and yet someone assumed you were a foreigner? Maybe you should've asked them why they thought that. It might not have had to do with your ethnicity as much as what you were wearing, how you do your hair, etc.

I can't figure out what ethnicity you look like from the two photos, sorry. Somewhere close-ish to the equator.

ETA: My official guess is Polynesian, maybe Maori?
yeah, that's! she was a salesgirl at the cellphone counter, she did ask if my dad was a middle easterner (he's not) but even someone of middle eastern descent doesn't stand out much unless he/she's a halfie.
I have the same problem. I speak American Standard and have a career where I speak to people on the phone quite a bit, then meet them in person. When I meet them in person, they are frequently surprised by what I look like because I don't look how I sound, whatever that means. I'm Polish, Spanish, and Taiwanese. Born and raised in the USA. So... what the heck am I supposed to look/sound like?!
that's cool, I always think being a multi-racial person is kind of cool. But, there is typical american looks? I thought being a multi-racial person was pretty common there? I don't think I look different, some people did say I looked pseudo Arab but that shouldn't stand out much.

daaamn, you got it, now my mission to conquer the earth failed.

Ah whatever, probably I just misheard her. Now, how to delete the pics? I couldn't the find the edit button.
