I'm just confused. Is it okay if I eat 1300 calories and exercise to burn 400 calories so the net could be 900 calories??
Or is it that the net calories shouldn't be less than 1200 calories??
Please help. TIA

Net should be 1200.0

MFP method expects you to eat back your exercise calories. If aggressive goals are set, MFP will set up a low calorie goal and without knowing additional information, nobody will be able to tell you an appropriate calorie goal.0

It's net, but 1200 cal is an arbitrary number not really based on anything. Shorter men and average height women will eventually have to net under 1200 cal to lose weight.0
