What would you recommend for a Protien powder to help with weight management

Protein powder won’t really help with weight management any more than any other protein source from real food. It’s more of a supplement to reach protein goals when you don’t get enough from food.2

I agree with Tom. But, if you are looking to meet protein goals in the short term and don't have the time or desire to prepare a whole food source of protein, there is no shortage of protein supplements from powders, breads, or drinks. Keep some of these on hand for when the need arises. You specifically mentioned powder supplements. I keep plain whey on hand that I buy in bulk - under $10/lb. It dissolves easily, enters our system quickly, has all the essentials and the taste is acceptable to me. I add 14g to my coffee right after working out for around 10g of protein. I get the rest of my protein from 4-5 meals+snacks throughout the day.
Since I don't see it mentioned much in these forums, let me warn that studies show that consuming more than around 25-40g of protein per meal (depending on protein source, age and activities) have limited benefits. Our bodies can only utilize so much amino acids at a time. The rest is oxidized for energy or passed through as waste. Powdered protein is metabolized very quickly, whole food sourced protein slower. Best to get your protein needs met from whole food sources (containing all the essential amino acids) spread throughout the day in multiple feedings. Helps to control hunger this way too.1 -
Yeah, you'll have to experiment a bit.
I have a whey-based one and a plant-based one. Their nutrition profiles are very different, and I like them both. I use them as a supplement when I can't quite hit my protein goals due to a very active day or strenuous exercise, but I never use more than a half scoop per day. I far prefer eating my protein.1 -

Protein powder is just a protein supplement. It doesn't have anything to do with weight management anymore than eating chicken or beef or whatever. It's just protein.1
