Hello everyone I’m Fink, I’ve earned my 3rd anniversary badge. I started using MyFitnessPal in 1998, I stopped when Covid-19 devastated the US. During the pandemic I gained 50 pounds. Last week after trying to lose weight for months having no success at all, I became desperate after leaving my PCP’s office with bad news. I am pre diabetic, my cholesterol is elevated. I don’t know if I have COPD having difficulty breathing doing almost everything. Or, is it because I carry a 50 pound bag with me in my body everyday. My doctor recommended I go to physical therapy for these body aches and pains I am 72.
I remembered the MyFitness app I downloaded it after being 232 pounds and gaining another 1.5 pounds. I have been to therapy twice this week doing light exercises, yesterday I felt like I wanted to stop but this morning I weighed myself and I am happy to announce I have lost 1.5 pounds. Now I have a reason to keep fighting for my health.
I have wondered how do people get obese getting up to 300 to 400 pounds, they didn’t do anything. Thanks to this app it can save lives. I forgot to mention I started a diet plan too. This is my first time ever posting in the community I am not a texting person so if anyone in the community can help motivate or show some accountability in training I will read what you say. I don’t know what a BBCode is or how to tag.

Hi Fink! Welcome! I recently came back to MFP after a doctor’s visit, too, when I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I had pre-diabetic test results last year at that appointment and didn’t make any changes. You’re smart to do this now!
I wish you the best!0
