Starting very out of shape and trying to make a lifestyle change I can stick with. I am 33, 5"5 and weigh 152lbs with NO muscle tone whatsoever - I look a good 20lbs heavier than I am. My ideal weight right now is somewhere around 125, but I know this will increase as my fitness improves.
I have a few demons to tackle, and they need to go all at once for this to work. I quit smoking yesterday (after smoking a pack a day for over 20 years) and drinking (not an alcoholic, but a fairly regular drinker) AND am hopping onto a diet plan..
My goal is to start lifting and focus a lot more on health than weight - but undertaking such a huge change in my life I've decided to break it down into two steps.
The first month, I will focus on quitting smoking/dietary changes with adding excercise partway through the month (once I get over the quitting smoking BS - it SUCKS SO HARD)!!! So month one will be daily 1200-1300 cals, and hopefully some weightloss to show for it too. Month 2 will be joining the gym, starting a lifting program and upping my calories.
This morning, this feels like a HUGE challenge. I am looking forward to the changes, but life a I know it will never be the same......
