"Cheat days" causing diarrhoea?

Hi, I'm eating 1200 calories a day and my weight loss is on track, but every couple of weeks I allow myself a "cheat day". I don't go crazy but today and 2 weeks ago we happened to have bake at home croissants on my cheat day. Both times I've ended up with diarrhoea within an hour of eating them. Is it that my body isn't used to fatty foods anymore and can't process them?
It's kind of ruining my cheat days which are meant to be fun! (Today is father's day and have lots planned, last time was my daughter's birthday).
Any advice?

Who knows, maybe. I've basically got an iron stomach, so I have no experience on that front, except milk, which is from a slight intolerance. I do know a few close people that complain of diarrhea occasionally and they also complain of generally having what could be described as irritable bowel syndrome a lot, but again, who knows.0

Perhaps there is an ingredient in those croissants that is triggering something? Is there an ingredient in there that you don't have in your regular 1200 calorie days?1

It sure could be, depending on what your usual diet is like. Could be ingredients, could be quantity that your body just isn't used to anymore. I've been struggling with chronic stomach inflammation over the last few years and have to restrict what I eat when I have a flare up. Once the flare up subsides, I have to be careful how to reintroduce foods, otherwise I have similar issues, particular with fatty foods.0

How many croissants did you eat? I wonder, if one or two croissants set you off, whether your regular diet is awfully low in fat -- unhealthily low, I mean. Obviously, people's tolerances are different, and maybe you've been focusing on plant fats and the croissants are made with butter, but it's just a thought -- your body does need some fat, and more than juts a few grams a day.1
