I recently started following low fodmap diet to help with tummy issues, it is challenging to only use low Fodmap foods and look for foods that are gluten free and lactose free food yes I know we are not to have gluten & certain dairy only milk can drink is Coconut Milk and not sure on cheeses that are low Fodmap or should these be avoided due to having high sodium . It’s very time consuming and a lot of googling but I am enjoying learning a lot of new things about this way of eating by its a learning curve for sure. I already feel so much better and it’s only been a week. One of the biggest challenges I find is that I’m also trying to lose weight too , before my tummy issues I was on weight loss journey & I’ve now have had a hard time losing the weight and some of the best foods for me have a lot of calories, sodium, sugars, fats & carbohydrates like oils for example and carrot is one to just name a couple. I don’t want to stress about my food entries in this app but it is challenging. Because I’ve got to measure out my foods & get my daily calorie intake to 1200 calorie but for female weighing round bout 177 that seems a little low for daily intake and was told this by an pro.
Only can eat limited foods due food issues.
Thank ya

It's a guessing game at best with fodmap and there are no exact rules except they need to comply to national guidelines so they are not liable, the cheese sodium excuse is a good example of that and who knows maybe coconut milk is an issue, it's all very much designed not to conflict with conventional wisdom and to mitigate litigation. Basically eat foods that you know don't create a problem and if your not quite sure then remove everything and just eat beef or chicken and some fat for a washout period of a few weeks, then add foods back in one by one. cheers0 -
Search for FODMAP in the app store, there’s a few apps that you can use to search and look for low FODMAP stuff. I’m going to be starting the same diet next week myself, to help with my own stomach issues. It’s confusing for sure.
I’m trying to gain weight though - hoping identifying my trigger foods will help in the long run.0
