Weight loss depends on calorie intake. It doesn't matter whether you follow a plan or not. Eat foods you like that are mostly healthy: protein, vegetables, fruit, healthy fats, whole grains etc. Following a strict plan works for some, who don't want to think about what they should or shouldn't eat, but others do fine just eating their normal diet, but in smaller portions.1

The best meal plan is the one that you can adhere to sustainably.

Obviously your asking which foods are best for weight loss, just guessing from your question. Eating less of the foods that made you fat is a popular solution because calories are what matter. Unfortunately that is short lived for almost everyone and lifestyle interventions that are more than likely diametrically opposed to how you live now will need to be implemented, generally speaking, and again this may not apply to you, it's just a general statement for the general population, imo.
I think and from what I see is that when someone adopts a whole food diet, regardless of the dietary strategy and start replacing highly processed foods with food that looks like food that satiety is generally increased and hormones that dictate hunger signaling begin to normalize and the more a person embraces this activity, the better the outcome and a very important aspect of this strategy is to either implement or increase some type of physical activity that promotes muscle preservation and bone density along with increasing our V02 max. Pretty basic really for health and longevity. Good luck with whatever strategy you adopt. cheers
