Well, the question would be: why aren't you motivated?

    - if it's just a matter of forgetting, setting reminders can help to get the new habit going
    - if it's a matter of 'it's too much hassle to look up foods while preparing my meals': use a dry eraser board/paper notes/notes on your phones to keep track and then enter into your diary at a more convenient time

My 'inner' motivation to keep track consistently is that I know it works for me. And being a data geek, I keep track of my weight trend and food intake to calculate my TDEE, so my calculations will be off if I'm not consistent with my tracking.

    This has been my experience...
Motivation comes and goes like the tide. Some days I am extremely motivated and other times I am the opposite.
What it comes down to for me is just straight up discipline and holding myself accountable.
I had a serious conversation with myself and figured out my why, and started holding more value in myself and telling myself I deserve this.
Now easier said than done right! But seriously, just start and just do. My journey has been very messy but it's mine and it is beautiful. Consistency is what is going to get you to where you want to me.

Tips that I now practice... I celebrate all wins, big or tiny! (this helps keep you motivated)
Set very small attainable goals and celebrate when reached.
Track everything. Even if you go over just start tracking everything, I promise it gets easier and it just becomes habit. You can't change what you don't know, information is power.
Once you have this information it gets easier to adjust your calories for cutting and maintenance.
Start with one habit at a time and just add it in to your routine.
Most importantly give yourself grace. We only get to live one life, enjoy it. Fall in love with the process not the results.
