I'm Lois. I'm 72, and I've been trying to lose weight for at least 30 years. I just canceled my WW membership and joined here. I don't like the direction WW has taken as of late. It may take a little time for me to switch from WW points to calories, but I'm excited to get started! I look forward to the support from the friends I make here!

Hello, Lois, and welcome! I'm 67, have been hanging around MFP for a while.
From reading other people's posts here, a big mental shift from WW is that MFP doesn't treat any foods as free, or really have any kind of built-in "good foods/bad foods" dichotomy. You log whatever you eat - veggies, fruits and all - and manage to the calorie goal.
The only food guidance is that if you use the app this way, you can track to make sure you're getting adequate protein, fats, fiber, etc. Well, there are also blog articles with recommendations - but nothing else inherent in how or what we log.
Most of us who've been successful with MFP find that logging all our food helps us make good personalized food choices, reflecting our own tastes and values. Nothing about the logging process - other than analysis you do yourself - drives you toward any particular food choices.
Personally, I find that helpful and even liberating. But it could be a change from what you're used to, unless your routine eating patterns are pretty established already from when you used WW.
The key thing: Log it all, good, bad, healthy, treat-like, whatever.
Best wishes!0
