Intermittent fasting

Hi, I have an intermittent fasting for a month now. I’ve only lost 3 pounds so far and have hit a plateau. Any advice?

Are you intermittent fasting (IF) and food logging/calorie counting, or just IF?

If calorie counting, can you say what your calorie goal is, what size/age you are, and that sort of thing? Right now, we don't have enough information to offer you specific advice.

IF alone doesn't guarantee weight loss. Calories still matter. Some people find that IF limits their food intake enough on its own so that they don't need to calorie count (or otherwise limit calorie intake), but that won't be true for everyone.

In general, 3 pounds of loss in a month isn't terrible. And staying at/about a consistent weight isn't really a plateau until a person has stayed at that same weight (more or less) for 4-6 weeks . . . at least a whole menstrual period if that applies to you.

It's pretty normal to lose a little weight on the scale up front, then seem to plateau for a couple of weeks as water retention rebalances on a new way of eating/moving. Significantly increased exercise or other activity increase can complicate that picture further. If one is in a calorie deficit (whether counting calories or not), scale loss should resume after that, but even then the normal patterns is daily ups and downs with a downward overall trend on average over several weeks.

That's all I've got, advice-wise, with the limited info you've given.

    Best wishes!
