For weight loss: none, strictly speaking. You can lose weight while not exercising at all, if your calorie intake is appropriate.
Exercise lets you eat more while losing weight (for the same weight loss rate), or lose faster (for the same calorie intake) and is great for health. I would recommend losing 0.5 to 0.75kg per week, no more.
Choose a type of exercise and a frequency/duration that doesn't burn you out, to create a sustainable habit for the rest of your life. If necessary, start small and increase gradually as you get fitter.
Cardio is likely to burn more calories, but strength training is a good idea too, to avoid losing muscle while losing weight (or even gain some if strength training is new and you aren't losing weight too quickly).1
