Controlling blood sugar

I have type 2 diabetes and am scheduled for hip replacement in August. I was on steroids, which spiked my blood sugar to above 8, which is very high for me. My surgeon would not consent to do the surgery until my blood sugar was below 7. I have never had a problem with my blood sugar being above 6.5 or so. I have been waiting for this surgery since Med March and just finally got to an acceptable number and got a call on Monday from my surgeon's office to schedule the surgery. Now, I need help keeping my carbohydrates at 45 to 48 per meal and one 15 carb snack per day. It is exhausting looking up carbs each meal, so I am helping that My Fitness Pal will give me the information I need to stay within my carb goals.
