Based on your height, weight, sex and age, it calculates your BMR based on the Mifflin - St. Jeor equations.
Based on your activity level, it multiplies your BMR by a certain factor to calculate your total daily calorie burn (not including exercise).
And then subtracts the necessary calories depending on your selected weight loss rate (or maintenance or gain) - 275 calories per 0.25kg or 250 calories per 0.5lbs per week.0
