Recovering Powerlifter, Getting Back to Fitness

Hi!

Hi! I'm looking for inclusive folks to be friends with on here. I'd like to have a communal cheer team. 😅

I used to powerlift, but right before the pandemic my RA made it very clear that training to compete was not something it wanted me to do. Worked with an athletic therapist and they were like, "Yeah... Powerlifting isn't right for your body..."

That was devastating, tbh. There was a lot of grief and processing that the sport I love was not something I could be a part of.

Then the pandemic hit and gyms closed so it all became moot. I became sedentary, coped with wine, and gained 75 lbs in the last three years.

But! Now I'm back in the gym, this time focusing on strength and conditioning. I have a coach because I like having someone keeping me accountable and pushing me forward.
