Hi, I'm not exactly new to fitness pal. I have used it a few times over the years and it has been good for awhile. Then I fall off the wagon. I'm so frustrated with my continued fails towards losing weight. I've been to therapists, but when I changed jobs I could no longer afford the appts. I need and want to lose weight, but I feel very alone on this journey. I have talked with my boyfriend several times about doing this together bc he needs to lose weight as well, but he doesn't change anything and I'm here trying to do it by myself. I need someone to help hold me accountable bc I do slip and then beat myself up for slipping. Encouragement is always welcome, but I would love some advice on successfully dieting on my own. What to do when I do slip to keep from falling back into old habits. Thanks in advance!

Hey, it is hard going at it alone when people close to you don’t have the same mindset. Let’s say a guy who used to be into fitness has a wife who loves to eat out or order in. You can imagine that is a negative influence. She can say what’s for dinner and I say chicken and get a sigh as a response. I can’t imagine the power a couple could have if they were focused together.

I have been on MFP for a long time. I to quit logging a few months ago,and then realized I needed to keep using MFP, because it does help very much, but we need to stay accountable. This is my problem. I have good intentions, but they don’t get me anywhere if I don’t stay accountable. There are so many great friends here that are going through the same struggles, and are here, ready and willing to help us, but We must keep on keeping on. We can do this. Continue to encourage your boyfriend and hopefully he will follow your footsteps on this healthy journey. You must do this for your own health. I am here to help you in any way that I can. I would appreciate your encouragement as well. 🙂
