Howdy from Canada!!

I'm 60 years old and have dealt with obesity most of my adult life It has contributed to several health issues, including diabetes and a cardiac condition. Two months ago, my physician prescribed Ozempic for me and I'm 2 weeks into the full therapeutic dose. The side effects are diminishing weekly. I've lost 20 lbs to date but much more importantly, my A1C readings are normal for the first time in over a decade!! All in all, it's been encouraging.

I don't follow any particular way of eating although most of our meals are vegetarian by preference. The only thing I'm really focussed on is eliminating as much of the ultra-processed foods from our diet. Both my husband and I have found that doing that has really worked at quelling the desire to binge-eat. Fortunately, I'm now retired from the workforce so I have the time to cook. It's also been a life-long hobby/passion.

I'm using this app to track my food intake because I know on my own I'm not eating enough food to sustain a long-term commitment. The Ozempic has massively reduced my desire to eat to the point I was taking in ridiculous amounts -- like 500 - 700 calories per day. I'm in this for the long haul so I don't want to jeopardize my long-term success by essentially turning this into yet another "crash diet".

Have a good day. I'm interested in meeting new people and sharing experiences.
