Going to start again

History. 280 to 197 to 240 to 220 to 174 to 202 currently over 15 years. Disappointed that I can't stay committed. I can lose weight easily once I make a commitment. Just can't seem to stay committed. My goals are get to 180 and then lose a pound every couple of years as my body ages. 60 years old.

For me, a key thing was to think in terms of how to make weight management as easy as possible, rather than trying to make it as fast as possible. I tried to focus on finding habits - routine behavior patterns - that I could keep up long terms almost on autopilot.

(I don't know about you, but I can't keep up "motivation", "committment" or "discipline" for the whole rest of my life, even though I'm 67 so more of my life is behind me than ahead.)

That puts a premium, for me, on finding ways of eating that I enjoy, that are also calorie-appropriate, nutritious, affordable, and practical. For me, it's not going to be named diets with all kinds of restrictions. It's also going to be finding fun ways to move more, whether that's formal exercise or just daily life movement. If I feel like I need to do some particular exercise out of duty, I try to find the most tolerable, practical, unavoidable way to do that.

I was overweight/obese for around 30 years. I've now been at a healthy weight for around 7 years. It. Is. So. Much. Better.

Just some thoughts. Wishing you success!
