Gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time is called recomping and is a LONG PROCESS. Maybe if you're a newbie or a returning athlete after a long layoff, you'll gain some muscle, but you have to be in a surplus to gain muscle and in a deficit to lose fat. While macro manipulation may help a little, it's still going to be an energy balancing game.
What do you want more? Muscle or lose fat? Focus on one of them first for faster results.
