I must and need to lose lots of poundage...80 lbs be a great start. It requires my focus and work which seem to get sidetracked these days. I will not eat more than 1200 calories a day, 60 oz of water in morning and exercise 6 days a week on Mondays-Saturday. I need to SHOCK my family and friends...the time is now. Oh yeah currently I look like a walking redwood tree....so I must do SOMETHING.

How tall are you? If you're tall, 1200 calories per day is not enough to be healthy. You may shock your family and friends with how sick and weak you look losing weight at too fast a rate.

It's probably more practical to eat an amount of food that's appropriate for you to lose at a reasonable rate so you don't get weaker and lose muscle. That's the point of the MyFitnessPal app, is that it can calculate how many calories per day you can eat and still lose weight.

Have you been working out all along, or is this something you're planning to start now?

    Best of luck to you!

DON'T be overzealous. Too many people try to do a full 180 and end up failing because it's just too much of a change to uptake. Start with just eating less, exercising just 3 days a week, and drinking more water than you usually do. It's the small changes that will lead to bigger ones. Overwhelming yourself too much can make it stressful and IF you don't get the result you expect after doing it, then it's easy to just stop and quit. Trust me, I've done this for years with clients and people I've met on MFP. Each month I have to go through my friends list and delete people who haven't logged in in a month.
