Slow and steady wins the race

I have been very laxed on my health journey. I think to myself I am too young to have these issues! But when the doctors told me I had high BP and elevated cholesterol I started to do small thing to change but weight loss was not one of them. I started with just adding a veggie to my diet tgen more and now I eat mostly vegetables with a protein but even that didn’t help me loose weight. It wasn’t until recently I tried the MyFitnessPal app that showed me the calorie intake I need to loose weight that I started loosing weight! I pair the app with intermittent fasting and started do very light workouts. I have gone from 225 to 210 in 4wks. I think consistency is key to meeting your goals. I not into all that sweat and anguish that comes from working out hard, I enjoy walks, biking, and some strength training which seems to be doing the trick so I’m going to stick with those things from
now! 😁👍🏻 I am a firm believer that slow and steady wins the race, especially in our culture which tells us to go go go. It’s nice to just calm down and take it step-by-step. 😁

Sounds like you're on a good track!
Seems like people who come here all "gotta lose weight fast, do some restrictive diet, do super-intense exercise" are more likely to burn out fast, or maybe lose weight, disappear temporarily, then post "Oops, regained, now I'm back because MFP worked before!". (That's not my personal definition of "worked", gotta say: The long game is not just reaching a good weight, but staying there, IMO.)
There's a lot to be said for finding enjoyable or at least very tolerable and practical new eating/activity habits one can keep up long term. Seems like a lot of people who are around here maintaining weight after loss have done that kind of thing.
It is pretty much what I did to lose from class 1 obese to a healthy weight back in 2015-16, and stay at a healthy weight since. I'll admit to some moderate gradual weight increases (unintended) and moderate gradual decreases (intentional), but it's been all within a healthy range, and all in the same jeans size. Given around 30 years before that of overweight/obesity, I'm pretty happy. My quality of life is much better than it used to be: I like it!
I'm cheering for you to succeed: Best wishes!1 -
