Hi everyone! Im new to this forum and I registered because I wanted a good advice from you. I've been doing aerobics about a hour per day, 6 days a week for the last year, and I loveddd my body But unfortunately, last month I got hit by a car, and i got two broken ribs. The doctor said i Shouldnt do sports for two months. I know that will take time for me to get back on track, but can you give me advice how to maintain the weight that I have and not gain more? I gain a few kg (2-3) from the vitamins and everything, but I dont want nothing more. So ineed advices on what should I eat, and how much

I am over weight as a result of permanent injuries AND my lack of adjusting food consumption to meet my low activity. Over 5 years I gained about 100 lbs. When enough was enough, unable to do any physical activity as it was determined by the hospital's physical therapy department to include absolutely everything. While walking for exercise was included in the do not do list, I started dieting and walking on April 3rd, 2013 and within 3 months I had lost 67 lbs. I have been unable to even do the walking I had been doing since then and have lost 3 more lbs. for my 70 lbs lost total. Personally I am on 1,375 calories and do not eat back any calories from the little exercise I can do. My fitbit transfers some exercise calories to MFP.
If you are able to walk it can help a lot. I have 34 lbs to go and am continuing the journey.0 -
It's really a matter of watching the number of calories you consume.
The bulk of my weight loss was from calorie intake.. and not so much exercise.
I ranged from 1200-1600 a day.0 -
Easy - just watch your calories. Since you aren't exercising, you won't have any extra exercise calories to eat. Eat fewer calories than you would if you were still active. I had a recent injury and haven't been able to do much cardio for a few months. It hasn't been a problem. I just eat maintenance calories and I magically maintain! :flowerforyou:0

Just eat calories at the sedentarynlevel. If you areallowed to stand try to stand 10 minutes of every hour...even if you can only walk for short amounts oftime, do it.. Try to get in at least 10 minutes every 4 hours you are awake.0

Me too. Didn't exercise at all. Watch your numbers very closely and you should be fine.0 -
My husband teaches tai chi and has a whole class for people in wheel chairs. When my dad was disabled, his PT and OT gave him exercises to do sitting on the couch that involved just moving his legs.
With sore ribs (I'm so sorry), you'll know what not to do - anything with your arms. Work your lower legs gently to build strength.
And be very careful what you eat. It's only two months.0
