Hey everyone

I’m Kelly. I am 51 have been struggling with weight all my life. Been thin fat and everything in between. Now going through so many delightful changes in my body now that I’m in my 50s. You ladies understand. My own version of hot girl summer. Just need to make adjustments because of high blood pressure and cholesterol is borderline. Anyway accepting friend request and hopefully we can encourage each other along the way

Hi, Kelly! We're at different stages, but I wanted to stop by your thread and welcome you to MFP.

I used MFP back in 2015-16 at age 59-60 to lose from class 1 obese to a healthy weight, and have stayed at a healthy weight since, still a committed MFP-er. Age 50+ is not weight loss doom: Quite a few people here succeed long term starting in that demographic.

For me, weight loss itself led to my high cholesterol/triglycerides and high blood pressure becoming solidly normal. That actually happened part way through loss, and all the health markers have stayed in a healthy/normal range since. It can take more than loss alone to accomplish that for some, especially if there's familial hypercholesterolemia in the picture . . . but weight loss will still make a great contribution in those cases.

    I'm cheering for you!

Hi Kelly I’m 52 next month been a serial dieter all my adult life being post menopause now I decided that I need to look after myself better so I’m putting myself first and have started working out with weights at home and started couch to 5k this week. I have a grown up daughter husband and 3 Siberian huskies and a full time job but I’m dead set on getting the weight off and keeping it off this time

51 year old mom of 6. Suddenly what worked in my 40’s for weight loss isn’t working anymore. Would love to connect with other ladies over 50 going through this wellness journey. Started Yoga this week and love it.
