    Have you been reading things in the Success Stories part of the Community? There are some great posts in there, very inspiring.

    Coincidentally, the amount you're trying to lose is very close to the amount I needed to lose (and did), 50-some pounds. It is possible, I'd say from that experience . . . and the results are very worth it.

    welcome!

    i've dropped from 242 to 145, and am hopefully going to lose a few more pounds. i've also gotten fitter, with a slower resting heart rate, and over a year and a half, i've been able to increase exercise from about 15 minutes to an hour - 40ish minutes of more vigorous exercise, which i couldn't have done a year ago.

    the ability to track calories on MFP has been SUCH a big help!
