    I don’t suppose I could encourage you to lose slowly. People who lose slowly have a much higher chance of keeping the weight off. You have time to develop new habits, learn new ways of eating.

    People who go for “fast results” usually follow this path:

    Eat very little

    Exercise very hard, probably starting from zero or little exercise background

    Lose five or six pounds the first week or two

    Put five or six pounds right back on the next week without bothering to learn why

    Get frustrated

    Cut even more calories and dangerously undereat

    Exercise harder

    Get exhausted and fractious and don’t know why

    Get frustrated they didn’t LOSE TEN POUNDS IN SEVEN DAYS!!! like the magazines or influencers say

    Scream “this sucks! This isn’t working for me!”

    Quit

    This does work, if you take the time to delve and understand what’s happening to your body instead of relying on screaming weight loss sites. I am your proof, right here, having lost nearly a hundred myself via calorie counting.

    Please please please take the time to do this slowly and correctly. Find out why you’ll “gain” a few pounds, how under eating affects your body and energy, and read these boards frequently for tips and great advice.

    We’ve got a lot of great board members who’ve lost large amounts and maintained that loss for several years who will knock themselves out to help you reach your goal!

    Crossing my fingers you’ll step back from the precipice and do this thoughtfully! Hugs.
