Kitchen scales (UK)

Hi there, I'm from the UK and have just started using My Fitness Pal today. I am working my way through the app, trying to make sense of it all. :)

I am looking to buy new kitchen scales to use so that I can track food calories etc. Can anyone please advise me of which scales they use and are happy with? Thanks.

I’ve been very happy with my Ozeri scale from Amazon. Costs about $10USD, and lasts a long time til I clumsily break one.

Weighs in both metric and imperial.

I “treated” myself to a Taylor with a large glass top and large numbers and HATE it. It’s inaccurate and if you leave anything on it for more than a few seconds, the weight measured goes down down down and down some more.

Expensive peice of junk. Thank goodness I didn’t throw the worn ugly Ozeri out!

It really doesn't matter which one you use. I'd chose a scale that has a battery type that is easy to get in the UK, that is big enough to put a serving bowl or pot on, has a tar function and measures in grams as well. Though if your ideal scale is a bit smaller than you wish then you can also improvise and put a roll of parcel tape on the scale, tar it, and put the pot onto the tape :D Hey, been using my scale to weigh parcels, and they certainly are bigger than the scale :dizzy:

 I know what you mean, but I don't know if the OP will.

    Maybe you could explain...

    Tare, honey, tare!

Tar is kinda sorta what I have left over too often after cooking!

I wasn't even talking about that...I was just thinking that people would think, "What in the world does a packing tape have to do with weighing food."
