Just wanted to say thank you :)

Hey guys so I was the girl eating 800-900 calories a day (don’t judge I had an eating disorder and was put on medication)

I tracked one day and I only ate 852 calories in a day…:o

Since Sunday I’ve lost 2lb :)
It might be water weight I don’t know
MFP says I can have 1580 calories
I’m 5ft 5 (167cm)
11 stone 8 currently
And I put I’m active because I’m a hospital worker so I get in sometimes 15,000 steps a day :)
And I put I want to lose 2lb a week :)

Built myself up slowly eating 1200 calories for the first two days then followed by 1400 calories but logged and tracked everything :)

It’s a better start and I feel better in myself for eating more and obviously my friend who is a personal trainer gave me some good advice and tips too :)

I just want to thank everyone for being there for me and giving me good advice…I will try to eat all my calories but obviously my stomach has got used to the low calorie amount…so I’m feeling full :)

Happy to hear of your progress!

At 161 pounds, 1 lb weekly weight loss will be more sustainable than 2 lbs, something to take into consideration.

Glad to hear that you're finding your way!

Q..... are you in the obese or the overweight range? Are you targeting more than 1% of your body weight per week?

Consider whether targeting 0.5% to 1% of body weight per week--and aiming towards the lower end of the range as your stored energy reserves decrease!--would be a better plan that targeting a loss of >1%... especially longer term.

I'll let you play with BMI and make sure your targets are reasonable and appropriate.

If I had any hint of an ED in my past I would make very sure to chat with specialists about targets and about thought patterns. Weight loss even at where you're at which is barely in the overweight range can independently trigger thoughts you should not want to trigger. Larger deficits can do the same.

I mean for anyone barely overweight (which sub 27 BMI would qualify for most) a 0.5% to 1% target would be much more appropriate than something more drastic

Add hints of potential past history and faster loss is not a likely winner.

Also note that food choices have a lot to do with satiation. I mean I can be pretty full on very few calories eating a home made potato and egg salad made using 0% Greek yogurt. And way less full eating eating the same calories worth of potato chips--aka crisps for you!🤣

If you need to up your calories I am sure we can find you some less satiating foods to eat.... some of us have years of experience making the wrong (or would it be right in your case) choices!🤣🤣🤣

It's good you're adjusting. Keep it up and make sure you're keeping it within the realms of the reasonable!

You may want to also have a look at a health based perspective based on aggregate numbers that do not take your own particular n=1 in direct consideration but just look at people of similar stats to you as an aggregate: https://www.smartbmicalculator.com/result.html?unit=5&hc=167&ws=11&wl=8&us=1&ua=35&ue=0&gs=&gl=

Your standard BMI looks as 26.4 not 26.9 based on the numbers you gave(?)

I used 35 as a random age, please adjust as necessary.

Basically long term stability slowly tending a bit down in terms of weight while engaging in healthy exercise and making good food choices look like a higher percentage health play than drastic "lose weight at all costs" stabs at quick and substantial weight loss.... at least based on numbers and looking front the outside in.

This interpretation would suggest an emphasis towards more regular eating (i keep stumbling on back to school lunch box backpacks for kids where home made lunches or dinners can be packed including even insulation for temperature control) which does sound like a problem for you at work.

And an attempt at a small deficit while concentrating resources on the totality of your health (beyond just weight: exercise, sleep, social, alcohol, proper medications) with the extra available cognitive power you would free up!!!!😘

If my two cents are of no use to you don't take them to heart.

Mix and match as you see fit. But that's my take, for whatever it's worth, lookin in from the distance of a continent plus an ocean away 🤷‍♂️

    Thanks pav :)
I went onto the nhs website and did my bmi…and that’s what it come up :)
I sometimes only eat a sandwich and a pack of crisps at work like today…

I had toast and a fibre bar for breakfast with a small glass of milk

For lunch I had a ham sandwich with some chocolate peanuts and some 73 calorie crisps

    For dinner I’ve had a McDonald’s salad that’s 279 calories
Total 1120 something calories for the day…and i am actually full…
Not only that it has been 29 degrees today and I’ve had loads of water…I’ve been rushed off my feet and done about 17,000 steps at work and I couldn’t eat anymore honestly…

35 is my age :) what I have been doing is making my meals to get my protein in…so the one day I made chicken and rice…the other day I had meatballs and rice :)
But they are the steam bags u buy from the shops :) but today has just been too hot to have a hot meal

I get a 15 minute break in the morning and an hour for lunch…and I work 7am-7.30pm.Just about get to go downstairs and get a cold drink from the machine if I ask nicely…the shop is halfway across the hospital and they do sell protein bars but I just don’t get time to go down and get one unless I’m on my break x
By the time I get home it’s 8pm..had my salad and then I’m ready for bed

I will try to up it a bit :) but it’s better than the 800 calories I was having before :) xx

Thank you for the support though.I really do appreciate it xx never would I ever fall out with someone over it…it’s good to learn these things xx
