ABSOLUTELY DEPRESSED.

I recently injured my pelvis in the worse way...believe it or not..exercising...my SI joint is inflamed..I have limited mobility now..I eat now badly as I'm back to emotionally eating...I got all the way down to to 270 now I'm 304...
I'm unable to do these...
No cardio.
No walking
No bike

I don't know how to pull myself off this cliff and if I keep going I'm going to fall...I'm such a failure..

The injury occurred in an exercise class where I followed someone who did a move incorrectly..I KNEW IT WAS WRONG...so I am also a fool.

I know that it could be worse..I know others are going through worse..this is my worse..

I'm sorry...I'm a mess right now..

There ya go: Take the reins and drive yourself in a more positive direction, at whatever pace you can handle. That's empowering.

Granny-esque advice: Keep the calorie drop on the small side, as healing takes calories and requires nutrition.

Also - although it's not the whole weight gain - the injury/inflammation/ongoing healing will cause some water retention, up to several pounds. No way to know how much right now, but that water retention will drop off as inflammation reduces and the healing completes.

Have you seen a medical doctor (MD)? Osteopathic doctor (DO)? Physical therapist? Well-credentialed massage therapist? Even maybe acupuncturist? If not, something(s) to consider. I've gotten benefits from each of those at different times. (I'm old. Stuff happens. I try to fix it. Usually it works.)

If you can do limited upper body exercise, that might be a help to get blood flowing. Clearly, you don't want to irritate the SI. Maybe take a look at things like chair yoga or other chair exercise on YouTube, see if they look doable. Moving is good for both body and mood, if it can be done safely.

Look for other positive activities (distractions?): Journaling, crafts, arts, music, meditation or prayer depending on your views, reaching out to friends/relatives you like but haven't talked to in a while, a good book or inspiring movie . . . anything.

If it were me, at this point I'd be thinking more about getting good nutrition (especially but not exclusively protein), less about shooting for weight loss. Healing is job #1, and it can happen.

I'm not talking through my hat here: I've had recovery challenges of my own along the way, various types. You can get through this.

Beaming healing rays in your direction!
