How do you add a friend in MFP in the browser desktop feature?

I only see how you can add someone you know outside MFP by their email. If I am in a discussion board here in MFP and I see someone I'd like to friend, how do I do that? Or is that only available in the app on your phone? TYIA

You can enter their username here to go to their profile and send a request:

On desktop, it's in the navigation menu:
