The calories in cups of tea seem very high compared to others calorie apps. Think they might be wrong?

I think it's more likely that you've chosen a database entry that either is incorrect, or that doesn't match how you take your tea.
The MFP database is crowd-sourced, i.e., entered by regular MFP users like you and me . . . except some aren't as accurate as you or me. Maybe the person who entered the tea entry your looking at uses lots of sugar or milk or something in their tea, and didn't bother to note that. No way to know.
Even the bar codes just give you a user-entered thing. Searching by typing in lets you choose one that you've verified to be as accurate as you want it to be.
