Is c25k for me?

Options
I am a newer runner. I have been running about one month and just yesterday completed my 1st race, at 4k, at a time of 23:55 (about a 9 1/2 min mile pace) and came in mid-pack. I am a 30 yr old female. I have discovered the amazing feeing that comes with completing a race and am now planning on doing a 5k at the end of October. I can already run 5k, but I want to improve my speed. Is c25k something that will help with this or is this for runners just trying to work up to the distance?

Thanks!

NO!!! Couch to 5K is just that.... a program for VERY beginning runners!!! You are far beyond this. Great job on being the fit Mommy your screen name indicates!!!

I really like Hal Higdon's training programs. I would recommend his intermediate 5K program since you want speed work http://www.halhigdon.com/training/50934/5K-Intermediate-Training-Program

I'm currently working through his Novice Marathon guide and seeing amazing progress. I hit the 13.1 mile weeks before I was scheduled to!

No, C25K is not for you. Look up Hal Higdon's training plans. He has one for every distance.

Exactly that. You don't need C25K, which really works on getting you out there running. You need something designed to increase your speed.
