I suppose it depends on your capabilities.
My husband is 68 and does aquafit and Tai chi, plus lots of walking
I’m 61 and do weight training, cardio, power yoga, aquafit, biking and more.
We both started a lot heavier and at absolutely zero movement - other than getting up for snacks.
We started out simply walking, and built from there.
Our gym offers a lot of senior and rehab classes- chair yoga, stretching classes, Fit Gen, and several levels of aquafit. Aquafit is great- very low impact on the joints and even those who aren’t comfortable swimmers can participate. We have one woman who is terrified of water and can’t swim. She gamely gets out there with a waist belt and a life preserver. She may hug the edge of the pool, but by golly she does it several times a week.
There’s also a ton of classes online.
Some 24 Hour Fitness type gyms offer free memberships via Silver Slippers to Medicate members.0
