AI friends?

Does anyone know if this site uses artificial intelligence to create “friends” on here or if AI spam is being used by a nefarious source? I have a “friend” who all of their answers are very canned responses. It’s like talking to a therapist, very robotic like.

I don’t think MFP makes bot accounts. They do exist though, normally for the sake of data harvesting for third parties - they’re not allowed but they do exist.

That said, it’s very unlikely these will actually interact with you with comments or messages. AI that responds to specific themes is very expensive to maintain and would make no business sense on here.

It’s more likely your friend is just a bit robotic. It’s just the way some people are online, especially if they’re of a certain generation.

I'm gonna guess with the amount of tech issues here they'd have no clue how to use AI let alone get it to work somehow
