Apple Watch tracking steps and exercise question

I have an Apple Watch which tracks my steps as well as exercise. When I go for my morning walk I track that as exercise and walk 4km. What I have noticed is that in the my fitness pal app it will give me extra calories for that walk as well as extra calories for the steps that I took during the walk. Is there some way to fix this? I mean I’m trying not to eat the exercise calories unless I’m extra active and hungry or going out but I just wish I could make this correctly reflect my exercise.
Anyone know anything about this ?

It is how it's designed to work. The calorie adjustment you get isn't calories for that specific exercise but rather a reconciliation between what you established as your activity level in MFP vs your actual activity level per your device. When your device indicates that you're more active than you stated in MFP you get a reconciling adjustment upward. You can un-synch it...but otherwise it's doing exactly what these two programs are designed to do, so there's no "fixing" of something that isn't broken.0
