I need somebody to help me get out of my own head

I'm having a REALLY hard time upping my calories. I recently upped from 1400 to 1600 (admittedly many days I stay closer to 1400) and I'm trying really hard to 'net' over 1000 (preferably closer to 1300).

My body is telling me to up my calories in so many ways: losing hair like crazy, often dizzy when I stand up if I haven't eaten in the past hour, having my period every 2 weeks (doctor says this is because my body recognizes that the womb environment isn't healthy so it get's flushed out), poor circulation, weight lose has slowed down a bit, tired often, asthma problems are worse.

All of those wonderfully bad things are happening and yet I can't get out of my own head and eat more. I calculated my TDEE-20% and I should be eating 1828 calories a day!

I need somebody to slap some sense into me, I need to start making my body a healthy place to create a child as I want to become pregnant in the near future.

I think your body is slapping you in the face you need to listen to it.

I think you would benefit greatly from talking about it with a professional.

There is some mental block you have subconsciously thrown in front of yourself, and you need to figure out what it is. It's not healthy for you to be fighting what you and your doctor know is right.

Why don't you call the doctor and ask for a psyche referral for some counseling? Sort this out before it becomes a thing to really cause you permanent problems.

Read that last sentence to yourself several times and I would think that'd be enough of a wake up call for you. It's just like someone saying they want to lose weight but won't give up eating cake three times a day or someone who wants to get "toned" but hates working out. Come on, you know what needs to be done to reach your goal - go do it!!

Eating more calories doesn't mean it has to be crap. I think this is where people get confused. Eat more calorie dense foods like peanut butter, nuts, seeds, lean meats, eggs, avocado, etc. Add more healthy oil to your cooking/salads. Put down the diet foods and eat real stuff. Enjoy it!

It may be time to talk to a professional or take a diet break and let your body recover for a while. I mean that honestly and without meaning any offense. Talking to a therapist during my weight loss has been one of the most important tools of my success. If you cannot take care of your body now that it's telling you it needs help then you may need more advice than what MFP can offer.
