Hi & Welcome. MFP can be great for tracking and the forums are pretty supportive.

My advice to anyone is find a starting place and tweak as you go. For me, I kept lowering carbs until I landed in very low carb/high fat territory. That was the key for me to find something sustainable, healthy, and effective for losing weight, reversing diabetes, and improving my labs.

Some people go vegan or vegetarian. Some people prefer a more balanced diet. I don't think it's good to stick to any one plan religiously, I think you have to keep track of what you're eating and just see what it's doing to your body and mind. And tweak the macros until you find your sweet spot.

Welcome! I’ve used MFP on and off for years and find that anytime I get lazy about it or focus too much on specifics (like keto) I lose sight of calories in/calories out and notice it on the scale. I have a Fitbit and have my two apps set up to share data. I find that to be a big help for me. You’ve got this!
