Does anyone else feel awkward logging a pre-meal cocktail as a “snack”?

I would probably just log it as part of the meal.

But you can do whatever you like. You can add meals (up to 6 I think) and rename them however you like!

    lol why not?

I changed the labels and categories for my meals: I have meal 1, meal 2, snacks, and coffee. I would probably put a cocktail as a snack, though.

I log alcohol wherever - part of the meal I drank it with, or snack - and don't feel awkward about that.

Physical awkwardness may occur if I overconsume alcohol . . . but I avoid that for a variety of reasons. 😆

My food log is for me (even though it's open to MFP friends). I'm not ashamed of it: It's just data about what I ate. Mostly I eat reasonably nutritiously. Sometimes I don't. Meh.

I created a meal in my diary called "Drinks" so when i have wine I just put it in there. Or i put it in "after dinner" which is usually when I have a glass.

As others wrote, create a new meal "alcohol" and log there.

    No shame in your game!

I have a "Misc" where I put alcohol and a handful of other things.

Typically, if I have a glass of wine, it is before dinner and I’ve always logged it as a snack. Never gave it a thought of calling it a snack; it just related to the timing of it.
