Where to get winter bicycling clothing for women 3x

Hi; Any suggestions on where I can get winter bicycling clothes in women's 3x? Winter meaning Ohio snowbelt? Any suggestions on what to look for when I shop?

I don't know if you can buy winter specific cycling clothes in plus size. I have never seen any. BUT, if I were in your shoes, I would wear breathable base layers to stay warm in a waterproof shell (including gloves and shoe covers).

Layers. I'm in Ontario Canada and I ride in the winter when the roads aren't snow covered. The thing I find gets cold are my feet so I bought shoe covers that really help and from there I just layer starting with a light wool underwear set, then a long sleeve cotton shirt and my winter running tights over top. Next add a windproof jacket, neck gaiter and a light wool beanie under my helmet. Warm gloves with a windproof back, lots of chapstick and I'm off. None of my winter cycling clothes are actuall "cycling" clothes, just put together whatever layers you can to be warm.

I find my core stays relatively warm once I get going but feet, thighs, hands and face are the problems. Also, from experience, if you start to feel your core getting cold, head for home or find a way to warm up. It just gets worse if you ignore it!

Nashbar.com is a great place to find affordable cycling gear. I'm sorry, I don't know what size ranges they carry because they offer many different brands. It's a great site.

I have been searching for plus size cycling clothing for days. While in CA I ride in 20 degree weather. Fleece pants are a must. I tried legging like arm warmers but they do not stay in place at my size. I wear winter gloves over my fingerless ones. Actually Old Navy made a good but light weight glove to go over my fingerless. Look for good wool socks to help with feet. Scudapro.com make a lot of colorful long sleeve winter jerseys in plus sizes for a reasonable price. I have ordered a number of them. More expensive ones can be purchased at Team Estrogen, Aerodesigns & Terry. But layering is a must. Target generally sells inexpensive base layers in their Champion line. I too wear a cheap wool cap with ear flaps under my helmet. I will be looking for a new face mask or buff.
