record personal training and cardio as just time, intensity, & weight.

I don't track calories. I would like exercise entries for PT & cardio that just need time, intensity and weight. If want calories, use an algorithm to calculate. I've searched but could not find a way. Thanks.

The strength exercise part of the database will let you record strength training weight/reps/sets.

On the cardiovascular exercise side, you can create your own custom exercises, and record them when you do them as 1 calorie. (I don't think you can record them as zero.)

Maybe that would let you record what you want, I'm not sure.

The cardiovascular database process on MFP does use an algorithm to calculate: It uses duration and your current bodyweight in conjunction with research-based METS values that vary with the type and intensity of exercise.

If you want to use that kind of process to create your own custom exercise, you can use an outside source of METS values** and a METS calculator *** to get an initial calorie estimate for your first use of your custom exercise. On subsequent uses, MFP will scale the calories depending on your then-current body weight and the duration you input.

This isn't perfect, but nothing is.

** One of these, which also explains METS: https://sites.google.com/site/compendiumofphysicalactivities/home
    That will be moving to:

    There are other such sources.

*** This is one METS calculator that you can use with METS values from the above to get an initial calorie estimate for a new custom exercise in MFP:

There are others, but be sure to get one that lets you input your own METS value.
