Any Disney fans out there?

Hey all, I’ve joined and rejoined here a few times, and now I’m back again! 30f, currently 370 with a goal of 250, and an ultimate goal of 175.
I’m a huge Disney nerd, heading on my 2nd Disney cruise in April next year, with big plans to complete the Castaway Cay 5k! It’ll be my first 5k, and I’m hoping it’ll inspire a love for walking/jogging/running that’ll last me a lifetime.
I also have a trip back to the UK in June next year, it’ll be my first in 10 years and I have not-so-great memories from last time about people sneaking comments about my size when they thought I couldn’t hear them. I don’t want to put myself through that again.
So here are my current goals:
- successfully complete the Castaway Cay 5k in April.
- get down to 300 by June for my big trip to the UK.
Anybody else just starting out and want an accountability buddy? Bonus points if you’re in the Calgary area and want to go spend an hour on a treadmill or something when the weather turns nasty.
Nice to meet you all, and good luck on your journey!

I used to live right near Walt Disney World & get annual passes so I could go all the time just to hang out. I'm not thrilled with some of the recent turns they've taken and I hope they fix their problems, I've moved so I don't go anymore but I treasure the memories for now.
I was 374 at my highest known weight (might have gone a bit higher when I didn't have access to the scales. I'm 85 lbs down & still going, and so close to reversing my diabetes. I had an illness that put me in a wheelchair for a couple of years (that's when I gained a lot of my weight) and I'm working on regaining my strength & stamina. I am doing another round of Phys. Therapy this month and I'm walking a lot lately.
There's a 5K trail near my house I go on every day, I'm up to 3 miles. One day I would love to walk the whole thing, and maybe eventually even work up to walking it back and forth again. If we have a bad winter I might have to join a gym but I should be able to stick with the trail till Dec.
Congrats on your first 5K, what a great opportunity to do it on a Disney Cruise on Castaway Cay.
