Looking to see food ideas and wondering if you go by calories or macros.

Hello! Here is a recently bumped thread on macros (originally misspelled) https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10376751/marcos
A calorie deficit is what you need to lose weight. Paying attention to macros indirectly helps with weight loss - if you are eating a macro balance that fills you up faster, it's easier to maintain a calorie deficit.
I pay attention to protein suggestions, and for me fat and carbs take care of themselves.
Here's a reputable protein calculator:
https://examine.com/nutrition/protein-intake-calculator/
I shoot for 500 calories of exercise per day, and when I achieve that, using the MFP default of 20% protein aligns with the protein grams recommendation from Examine. If I were completely sedentary, I'd need to bump it up to 30%.

I subscribe to a number of cooking websites and get food ideas from the periodic emails.
