Hi all,
I have had a humdinger of a year health wise. I lost 8 months to various health issues. As a result of not making excuses, and being more active, I have lost 75 lbs., and have 75 more to go to my healthy weight.
My goal is to walk 3 miles a day and have normal blood tests. This is so much more than a number on the scale. I'd love to finish a Disneyworld race and dress up like a princess for fun. I want to run up the stairs like Rocky. I want to have cosmetic surgery to rid myself of an older version of myself. My narrative has changed into more positive of one. Thankfully. Life is too short to not be comfortable in my own skin.
Let's be real...not every day am I running for the hills singing the "Sound of Music" songs.
I am getting out of the chronic stage of obesity. I would love to go to rehabilitation for ED., not sure yet if my insurance will cover it. I have a positive mindset most of the time. Then some days are bad. I keep picking myself up and taking more action. Quitting is not an option. I have been a Binge Eater for 30 years. I don't binge for the most part anymore. I gave up going to fast food drive ins. There is not quality nutrition there that my body needs. I eat to fuel my body and not feed only my taste buds. I mostly go to the drive thru to buy ice water. What?!?! I never thought this would ever happen. I've been eating so many salads and vegetables, I think I could easily turn into a vegetable. lol
Real results I have produced are: normal blood pressure, normal cholesterol, normal triglyerides after I stopped eating fast food! My A1c went from 12.3 to 7.1, still working on getting my A1c down to 5.5, and I quit drinking pop for longer than 2 weeks. Yay!
My approach may be different than yours. Everyone has to figure out what works for them. It is up to us to formulate a plan and just do it. I used to have analysis paralysis and would not do anything until I had a "perfect plan". I was lying to myself. Do it now! Stop wasting your life if you are truly unhappy. We don't get the time back.
I appreciate people who are into being honest with themselves in their journey. Sometimes we all need tough love. Cutting through that thick cloud of denial is just painful. You are stronger than you think. Losing weight is a game of mental toughness, discipline, consistency, and fortitude. You chose to be the overcomer and champion in your own life. What results have you produced this month? Did you set a deadline to your goals? Keep at it. Please, you owe yourself that...
I am looking specifically for people who walk their talk by being better. I don't care how much you weigh. Everyone has to start somewhere. I am empathetic and understanding. I'm looking for doers not talkers. I played that game and it got me zero positive results, just older and fatter. Lol
Right now, my lifestyle has to change. My doctor told me so...
To anyone reading this, you can do this; you are the only one that is holding you back. No one else. How bad do you want to work for a new life? A life that you are worthy and deserving of...don't settle. I am working my way up the mountain to the summit. Only when I reach the top will I twirl and sing a lot worse than Julie Andrews. I love you, Julie! LOL
Healthy wishes for your own journey. Prove it to yourself.
You are enough. You are valuable. You deserve to be treated well and loved, and that starts with yourself. God bless!

I did lose 85 lbs., but in giving up pop, I have gained some back. I started drinking ginger and lemon tea and other fruity teas. Next month, I am giving up sweetners. Although it says I have been here two years. I did not actively participate.0
