using myFitnessPal for diabetics

I have joined in order to track my carbs/fat as part of managing my type 1 diabetes. I am coming from Calorie King which offers a huge array of foods to keep a diary with. MyFitnessPal is better at finding a food by scanning it, BUT they are way worse because, just for example, when I type in raw almonds, I get not one but 50++ results. Often it's because one listing is from a vendor. Another difference might be that it measures the almonds by the cup, or the half cup, or 15 grams, or 100 grams. It's too much information! Sometimes the information of weight:carbs are flat wrong. It is a LOT of sorting and takes too much time. Does anybody else have this issue?

    There are many other beginning issues. I may be able to sort them out, but this is a time issue for me. I can't spend 15 or more minutes studying all the options to find the one that suits me. As a note, I measure by grams, so it's best when the offering has the ability to shift to grams and I get to choose (after I weigh on my scale) how many grams I'll be needing to take insulin for. I hope people reply. I really want this app to work for me

    the goal here is not to lose weight, but to follow my carb/fat intake, take appropriate amounts of insulin for it, and then follow my exercise routines and see how my exercise affects my blood sugar numbers. I may be different from most other users in this regard. Any other diabetics out there who are using this app?

    The beginning is hardest. Once you've found proper entries, they will show up in your recently used and most frequently used foods.
