Tired of just regular planks? Try this

I haven't had many clients that could do it well. But it's called "stability ball plank rollouts". WAY HARDER than a regular plank and increases strength all over the core area.

I make it harder by slowly rolling the ball out in front of me. I feel like that gives more core work rather than just stationary planks, which have never really done much for me.

Yes. Time under tension works more intensely for just about any exercise. Also you learn how to focus on feeling the movement more.

I just started doing planks, lowering on lower arms and up again as part of my physiotherapy. Need to get strength back.

That's a smaller range of motion than I would have expected.

I was thinking that, too. It's like the range of motion for serratus wall slides, just horizontal. It would be good for core horizontal, too, of course.

I've done something like that in the early stages of a progression from planks to ball rollouts (increasing range) to foam roller rollouts to the ab wheel thingie.

Some of the reach-through/rotational plank variations are nice, too, to go beyond just linear challenge.

Nice. I've used a ball under my feet for planks, but not that way around.
