Go to the bottom of the meals in your daily log to find "add exercise," click and select cardio. Search for walking, X mph or running, X mph and enter the number of minutes you walked or ran.
For strength training you'll also have to select cardio if you want MFP to account for calories -- there should be an entry under cardio for strength training. It's not a lot of calories. I believe it accounts for normal recovery time between sets, but if you spend a lot of time on your phone or whatever between sets, you should probably cut the time you log in half or whatever seems appropriate

IME, the MFP estimates for walking tend to be one of the more likely to be higher than realistic, especially for longer, relatively moderate/slow walks. For those, I would get the calorie estimate from this source, with the "energy" box set to "net":

It has a setting for running, too.
Inputs to that include walking/running speed (the average speed for that walk/run), and amount of time. There are free apps that you can run on your phone that will give you reasonable estimates of those. You can then log that calorie estimate into MFP - just type over MFP's calorie estimate before adding.0
