Success of the week: Ever so slowly moving back into maintenance range. EVER so slowly. Ended my "off" season at the gym, but I've only been once so far.
Struggle of the week: As much as I'd rather just stay on Standard Time and skip Daylight Saving Time altogether, the twice annual changing just plain sucks.

October was a challenge foodwise – we had four holidays! Lots of eating out, hotel breakfasts and dinners – but my average weight and trend weight are under 50 kg so I’m happy. The week in Scotland was probably the highlight – went to places I haven’t been to before and travelled through some spectacular scenery.

Success of the week: Got in my first swim in months. I go "inactive" at my gym during my busy outdoor season. I call it "going active" instead of "inactive." I will ease back in so I don't over-do it.
Struggle of the week: Progress getting back farther into maintenance has suffered a backslide.

Successes/struggles of the week: I had a couple of great days in a row in terms of getting in steps (over 22k one day, and close to it the next day). Unfortunately, still over the top of my range, though have been trending downwards a bit. I'll be on vacation most of this upcoming week, so I won't get in regular workouts, but will try to get in a lot of steps to balance out all the meals out.2 -

Weight trending down – I’m preparing for a holiday later this month.
Got back to the gym – nearly 9 months since I stopped a few weeks before my hip replacement op. I’m being really careful, just using a few machines with low weights and constantly checking the hip movement, but all seems well.
Struggles: none so far this month.

Struggles: Frustrating week – I weighed in at 49 kg on the dot for several days in the run up to Wednesday the 15th then I went out for the day and ate out lunch and dinner and shot up to 49.8 kg the next morning! Obviously not actual weight gain – Chinese dinner, hours spent travelling and sitting in the theatre – “just” water retention? But it has been slow to come off again.
Successes: I have been in the gym every other day over the last 10 days and it’s going well.
I’m away on holiday for two weeks from the 23rd – hoping for some sun!

Successes/struggles of the week: Back from my week of vacation and went up 2.4 lbs to 117.4 from where I was pre-vacation. Have dropped down to 115.8 in the last few days. Going into Thanksgiving higher than I would have liked, but expected it with the timing of my vacation.1 -

Success: Weight is still okay. Feeling better overall. Did more walking this past week. I had a little medical scare that turned out fine. The doc did say that exercise was important so now I have a known medical reason to exercise. That helps with motivation.
Struggle: The end of the day comes too soon. It is a struggle to get my exercises including walks in every day. All of sudden the day is over. I now put "*" by these things on my todo list. See if that helps. Do them first!

Successes/struggles of the week: The post-vacation and post-Thanksgiving weight bumps have stayed around, as expected. I started using a weighted vest to add some more resistance when walking around and for use for weighted pullups. Have made some progress with that.1
