Does anyone else change their macros or use the fitness pal recommended and calories and has it helped? I seem to not be able to loose weight on 1200 or 1300 calories.

Hi there, I use the recommended calories, but I change the macros. I am currently losing 2-3lbs a week consistently by making sure my protein intake is higher than what MFP recommends. My macro Ratio is 30carb/40protein/30fat and I’m eating 1340cals. Also wanted to note I am very active and walk/run daily and lift weights 5-6x week. What MFP recommends is a great starting point as you figure out how your body works and what it needs, but Everyone is different and you sometimes have to adjust accordingly. Best of luck!1

If you're not losing weight on 1200 to 1300 calories, it's very unlikely that your macro allocations is the problem.
1) Are you being impatient? Have you decided after three or four days (or less) that you can't lose weight on 1200 to 1300 cals, while simultaneously starting a new exercise program, hitting a water-retention phase in your monthly cycle, changing your diet in a way that has increased the weight of food passing through your digestive system, and stressing out over losing weight?
2) Tell us your height, weight, gender, age, and general activity, and we can take a shot at figuring out whether you might be among the very small percentage of people who need to eat less than 1200 to 1300 calories to lose weight.
3) if you've given the effort at least a few weeks (better yet, a month) and your stats suggest you should be losing weight, consider whether you need to tighten up your food tracking. Honestly undercounting one's calories is extremely common. Are you using a food scale and weighing everything you eat, at least to begin with? Don't assume a package of food contains the amount of food it says. Weigh it.
4) If none of the above solve the mystery, you might want to see a doctor. There are medical issues that can affect the amount of energy (calories) your body uses.1 -
Yeah, I would say you're not logging accurately. 1200-1300 calories would have any adult losing weight unless you're extremely short and/or older and sedentary. Log for 4-6 weeks, everything you eat. It's not your macros.
