Eat on whatever schedule keeps you feeling closest to full and happy more of the time. What that is differs from one individual to the next.

There is little to no effect of timing on weight loss, outside of the idea that for most of us, some particular eating schedule may make it easier to stick with a sensible calorie goal.

It's calorie intake that is the main direct effect on body fat gain/loss.

If necessary, experiment to determine what schedule best helps you manage your appetite and energy level. When you try a new variation, give it at least a few days, because habits can trigger appetite (i.e., we tend to feel a little peckish at times when we're accustomed to eat).

Fat loss or gain will depend on overall weekly calorie consumption and not the time of day you eat.

My 2 cents. Worth about 2 cents. Eat some protein as early as you're comfortable eating. Eat some protein before work. If you have lunch around 12 and don't eat dinner until 6:30 or later, you could get very hungry, or reach for cookies or a candy bar out of real hunger before dinner, so maybe a protein snack somewhere in between.
No research to back it up. Just life. Observation.

Like other said, eat on whatever schedule works best for you.

That said, I have questions. I’m curious why you are getting up at 2 AM if you don’t start until 8:45 AM. And also why you would have your first break 15 minutes after you start.

Is your start time actually a lot more changeable than you indicated? And/or do you have a long commute time?
